After fourteen years as an undocumented immigrant in the US, a filmmaker returns to South Korea to visit her grandfather’s grave, where she uncovers the roots of the family curse that led to her solo escape at age 15. Weaving personal direct-cinema and her grandfather’s video-diaries, the film explores the social repercussions of Korea’s westernization through one family’s complex experience.
